Originally published in Marathi, The High-Caste Hindu Woman by Pandita Ramabai (alternatively spelled Pundita Ramabai) was translated into English for this 1888 edition. Ramabai was born in 1859 in Maharashtra to a Chitpavan Brahmin family.

The poetry includes an introduction by Julian B. Arnold, a lecturer and entertainer more famously known as the son of Sir Edwin Arnold.

Request for "Sheikh Mujib Way"
Request for the honorary street name "Sheikh Mujib Way" on Devon Avenue from N. Ravenswood Avenue to N. Damen Avenue, Chicago. The request was made by Sadruddin Noorani to the 50th Ward Aldermanic Office on July 24, 1997, and was to be introduced to City Council on July 29, 1997. Sheikh Mujib was the founder and a Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
