M.A. thesis authored by Salim Khan in 1981 as a student at California State University, Sacramento. Khan describes the purpose of the thesis as:
"A study of the pioneer immigration of the Pakistani people in the American West. The study concerns the origins of Pakistani immigration, the routes of immigration, and the pattern of Pakistani settlement in the American West."
