Photograph of man praying before Hindu idol, Los Angeles, 1999. A man stands before a statue with his hands together and his eyes closed. He is wearing a white robe with black embroidery. The statue with lion's face has it's right hand raised, palm open and its left hand outstretched in a claw type position. It is dressed in a white shawl and a flower lei and made out of some kind of black stone.

There are shrines in the back, and many people seated on the floor around a rug with a flower on it, and they appear to be eating, as there are plates in front of them. There are statues of deities on the right wall as well as on the left, but these are not entirely visible.
