Political Crisis in India: Some Pertinent Questions (1975)

DESCRIPTION
Four-page report from July 16, 1975 titled "Political Crisis in India: Some Pertinent Questions" written and published by the Chicago-based Indians for Political Freedom. The report analyzes several issues regarding the Gandhi's declaration of the state of emergency, including charges of corruption, suppression of the press, and repression against "Mizos, Nagas, and 'Naxalites.'" The report also argues that the state of emergency was not a "sudden turn of events" but arose out of the "nature of the Congress and oppositional parties" and an "expansion of state machinery and its continuous abuse."
