The Hindusthanee Student (January 1916)



DESCRIPTION
The January 1916 issue of The Hindusthanee Student (Vol. 2, No. 4) published from the Nalanda Club in Berkeley, California. The issue includes several editorials , an essay about the "Hindu Student and Medicine" published by the Dean of the College of Medicine of the University of Michigan, a report on the celebration of Guru Nanak's Birthday in at the Gurdwara in Stockton California, as well as articles by B.K. Sarkar, Sudhindra Bose, and B. Dass. Also included is a copy of a telegram sent to President Woodrow Wilson to congratulate him for his marriage on behalf of H.A.A., and a response by J.P. Tumulty, the Secretary to the President.

The H.A.A. officers in 1916 are listed as N.S. Hardikar (President), S.N. Karr (General Secretary), K. Tullasker, H.K. Rakshit and L.S. Tehera (joint Vice-Presidents). Includes photographs of both the interior and exterior of the Gurdwara in Stockton, and portraits of B. Dass and S.K. Mitra, two past officers of H.A.A.
