The May 1917 issue of The Hindusthanee Student (Vol. 3, No. 8) was published from the Nalanda Club in Urbana, Illinois. The issue contains the following articles: "Indian Students Abroad" by Rafidin Ahmed, "Challenge of Today" by Sudhindra Bose, "Ideals and Obligations" by K.D. Shastri, "Supply Trained Men" by N.S. Hardikar, "Universities of Holland" by Bene Van Rippen, and "Machines and Ideals" by Edwin Herbert Lewis. Also included in the issue was the special "Woman's Section," containing the following essays: "The Possibility of Establishing Auxiliaries at Different Centers" by S.E. Jewitt, "The Three Arts Club" by Lilian Baldwin, and "The Message of Rabindranath Tagore" by Gertrude Simmeling.
