Hari Trivedi For Governor
DESCRIPTION
The official website of Hari Trivedi For Governor in the 2012 Wisconsin recall election. In 2011, newly elected Republican Governor Scott Walker and the Republican-led Wisconsin State Senate effectively ended collective bargaining rights for public employees in the state, sparking unprecedented protests in Madison and a successful effort to force a recall election. On Tuesday, June 5, 2012, Wisconsin voters headed to the polls in a recall election between Republican Governor Scott Walker, Democratic Candidate and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and independent candidate Hari Trivedi. Governor Walker retained his office, with 53% of the vote. While Trivedi, a physician by training, only received 14,350 votes or 1% of the total votes cast, his campaign reveals increasing South Asian American participation in politics.
