TRANSCRIPTION
6th September 1950.

My dear Bhai Bhagwan Singhji,

I am in receipt of your two letters both dated the 1st September. I am forwarding a copy of your letter together with a letter (copy) from Sardar Harnam Singh to the Government of India for information and such further action as they may consider necessary to take.

2. I entirely agree with you that our compatriots here should do something to help the poor victims of the further disaster that has over taken us in Assam. I, however, feel that this is a matter in which the Community itself should take the first initiative. Mr. Godha Ram Channon also spoke to me about this matter and as you are perhaps aware he has in the meantime issued a circulatory letter as per copy enclosed. I have no information as yet of any reactions to this letter. As desired I am enclosing herewith another copy of my photograph together with a summary of my biography as read out at meeting of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

With kindest regards from us all,

Yours sincerely,

M.R. Ahuja
Consul General.
