My dear Husain Sahib:
Already a week ago I started answering you letter, but due to unforseen circumstances it never go finished nor sent. Since then through Rishi Grewal, I had further news of you, though indirectly... Either you or him, -I do not know which one,- is tempting an old Revolutionist, retired from politics, to nibble at imitation bait!!!

Last Sunday I reached my 71st birthday knowing not how I could have travelled this far, - from now on the rest of my journey, I hope to finish with a little more wisdom...even though a little slower speed.

Through an offer of three months' expenses, by an American friend, I have decided to give up the work I was doing and devote my entire time to the History of the Gadar Party. I cannot hope to complete the work within that limit, that I know, but I am doing all I can.

Since I know that you will be in Los Angeles in about two weeks the information that you desire regarding the trial, I will give you personally when we meet.

Until then, with best wishes to you and yours,

I am

Sincerely yours,
