My dear Professor Roberts

I have offered myself as a candidate for a fellowship worth $416.66 a year from the University of Washington. To back up my claim as a candidate I need letters of commendation from the authorities of the Universities and educational institutions I was connected before. So may I beg your favor to send me a general letter fitting the occasion. I intend to take post graduate work in the Dept of Political Science. April 1st is the last date of submitting all papers so will you kindly take the trouble of attending the matter at once. You may show this letter to President Shooner and I shall be only to glad if he can give me such letter concerning my merit as a student of political science history + so on. With my kind regards to all.

Yours truly
Taraknath Das
