"Vietnam and the Truth"

DESCRIPTION
In a letter to the editor published in the January 17, 1971 edition of The New York Times, Republican National Committee Publications Director John D. Lofton, Jr. responds to an earlier letter submitted by Eqbal Ahmad, scholar and anti-war activist indicted on charges of conspiring to kidnap Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and asserts that Ahmad is guilty of the same crime he accuses President Nixon of, namely, “twisting the truth so as to confuse the American public.”
