My dear Lal:

I am in due receipt of your letter of Sept. 15, and was very glad to hear from you. As I wrote you before I am getting ready to leave for India via New York. I have already applied for re-entry permit and have seen the head of the immigration office here to make sure of my return.I will be going to the doctor for a inoculations about the end of the week. Reservation for the ticket has already been made and my schedule is enclosed herewith for your information.

You know that I have never been in the east and do not know much about New York or other cities. For Chicago I am writing to Mr. Mumtaz, but for New York I have to depend on you. I shall appreciate it if you will please make the necessary arrangements for my stay there. If you are too busy you may call Mr. Ramlal Bajpai and ask him to look after these things, but it is up to you to see that arrangements are made. More when I see you.

With kindest regards,

Yours very sincerely,

GRC/AR
