"August Fifteenth -- Independence Or Partition Day?"
DESCRIPTION
Paper written by Professor Taraknath Das of Columbia University and printed by America India Feature and News Service on August 11, 1950. Professor Das opinions that August 15, 1947 should not be celebrated as Independence Day for India but rather as a mournful ‘Partition Day’. Professor Das, in the past, spoke against partitioning India into separate countries and hopes they can be reunited for the common good of ‘Greater India”.
