Letter from Walter White to N.R. Checker
DESCRIPTION
Letter dated April 29, 1944 from Walter White, Secretary of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, to N.R. Checker, President of the of India Association for American Citizenship, Inc. White responded to a letter from Checker asking for support of Bills H.R. 4415 and H.R. 4479, to permit the naturalization of Indian nationals in the US. White stated that he would pass on the information to the NAACP’s Board of Directors for consideration.
