DESCRIPTION
This copy of the India Welfare League, Inc. publication, The New India, is part of the Senate Committee on Immigration's records regarding S. 1595, a bill to permit all people from India residing in the United States to be naturalized. Published in December 1944 this publication features an editorial by Mubarek Ali Khan regarding the strength and worthiness of India and Indian Nationals living in the United States, a piece by Sajjad Zaheer about Mohammed Ali Jinnah and his contributions to the ‘Muslim Awakening’, and two letters of correspondence regarding S.1595 and the naturalization of Indian Nationals.
