DESCRIPTION
Two newspaper clippings from the scrapbook of Dr. Amarjit Marwah.
The first, a Los Angeles Sentinel article entitled "Congressman Wally Herger Honored" and dated May 26, 1988, discusses a gala held by the Chicago-based Association of Sikh Professionals in honor of California Representative Wally Herger, who advocated on behalf of Sikhs during the Punjab Crisis in India. Dr. Marwah is described as the organizer of the whole affair, and is pictured with Congressman Herger and Commissioner Harold G. Becks.
The second, entitled "In Support of Scout Movement" and dated June 16, 1989, describes Dr. Marwah's sponsorship of the Los Angeles Girl Scouts and a fundraiser for the organization held in his Malibu home. Dr. Marwah is pictured in multiple photos posing with Myrtle Burtons and various members of Girl Scout Troop 549.
