DESCRIPTION
Tamanna Choudhury is the business owner of Bengali Nastha Michigan. Tamanna creates homemade treats such as frozen samosas, rolls, kabobs, to order chicken roast, and specializes in making wedding taals. Tamanna says she wanted to generate income at home while she cared for her young children. Although she began making snacks for several years, she launched her Facebook page in 2015. She says making her own income brings her joy and allows her to help others. Tamanna is a Bangladeshi Women Entrepreneur.

Photo 2: Featured here is a platter or taal of assorted mishti, Bangladeshi sweets, for a wedding in 2017.

Photo 3: Pictured here is a taal she made with fish for an order to celebrate a new groom.

Photo 4: This chicken taal was made in 2017 for a wedding celebration. These are customized taals or platters for weddings and special occasions. Taals are usually not available for purchase at local restaurants.

Photo 5: This is a Paan Taal made for a wedding in 2017. Paan, a leaf consumed with betel nut, is a part of Bangladeshi culture, often chewed after meals.

Photo 6: This was a special order of chicken roast, a speciality dish made often at Bangladeshi weddings and special occasions. During the pandemic Tamanna says people continued to order chicken roast and frozen food items like spring rolls and samosas.

Photo 7: This was another taal made of spring rolls and shingara, samosas stuffed with potatoes.

Photo 8: This is a fruit taal made for a wedding.

Photo 9: This is one of her recent wedding taals she made in April 2021, featuring baby chicks made out of chicken, eggs, and vegetables. This main chicken platter is a traditional handmade platter made for weddings in the Bangladeshi culture.
