"Shallows" by Maya McCoy, Asian American Writers' Workshop

DESCRIPTION
This article was written by Maya McCoy about a family originating from Sri Lanka, whose identities and histories are inflected upon their present experiences, including the time of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. This artifact relates to the SAADA Archival Creators Fellowship Project on Ilankai Tamil Feminism, as it documents the creative expressions of diasporic Tamil identity in ways that are intersectional and reflective of Maya's own life.
