DESCRIPTION
Oral history interview with Juby George, conducted by Philadelphia Fellow Sherry Thomas.

Juby George owns an Indian food stall/culinary venture specializing in South Asian cuisine, including highlighting flavors from his childhood as a Malayali American. In 1985, at the age of 6, he moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his father and siblings. He spent many years of his childhood helping his father at the Indian grocery store he owned. He speaks of his unconventional upbringing, the impact of his father’s entrepreneurial spirit on the pursuit of his passion for cooking, and the legacy he wishes to leave for his children.
