Join the SAADA Board of Directors!

FEBRUARY 25, 2013

Do you describe yourself as an agent of change?

Good, so do we.

The South Asian American Digital Archive (SAADA) is a Philadelphia-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2008 in order to document and provide access to the diverse and relatively unknown stories of South Asian Americans. Our collection reflects the vast range of experiences of the South Asian diaspora in the United States, including those who trace their heritage to Bangladesh, Bhutan India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the many South Asian diaspora communities across the globe. Visit the archive online at http://www.saadigitalarchive.org

SAADA is currently recruiting new members for its Board of Directors. Board members serve for a term of one year and can be re-elected to the board twice. The board meets once a month via video conference to discuss and approve the strategic direction of the organization and provide financial oversight. All board members participate in fundraising and are expected to use their personal networks to strategically advance the goals of SAADA. This is a great opportunity to have a transformational impact on an emerging nonprofit.

Candidates should have these qualifications:
• Willingness to devote 10-30 hours a month to SAADA
• Willingness to make personal introductions for SAADA when helpful
• Comfortable making a financial investment in SAADA
• Comfortable committing to serving as a SAADA board member for between one and three years
• Possess an entrepreneurial spirit
• Interest in South Asian American history and a commitment to SAADA's mission

Candidates must be based in the United States, but not necessarily in Philadelphia. Also, please note that candidates do not have to be of South Asian heritage.

First round applications will be accepted through March 10, 2013. Interested candidates should apply using this link: http://fs23.formsite.com/saada/board-of-directors/
