DESCRIPTION
A facsimile of the Congressional Record dated May 17, 1943, published by the India League of America. The report contains a letter to the editor signed by Frances Gunther, Roger Baldwin, and Anup Singh documenting the Viceroy of India's refusal to grant William Phillips, President Roosevelt's special envoy to India, permission to visit Gandhi and Nehru. The letter was inserted into the Congressional Record by Utah Senator Elbert D. Thomas, after a special request.
