Mr. Taraknath Das,
749 -3rd Ave.,
New York City.

Friend Das,-

Your letter at hand and I have written Prof. P.R. Kepler, Sec. Columbia University, N.Y.City in your behalf. I hope you will make good there. If you are going west soon, unless you can get aid there in the city, why do you not go right to Council Bluffs, Iowa and see Gen. Dodge? Go by the way of Chicago, Council Bluffs and Omaha. Gen. Dodge's address is Gen. G. M. Dodge, Baldwin Block, Council Bluffs, Iowa. I think it would pay you to go and see him. If you do see him tell him about your work. I will speak to the people as you suggested. In writing me be sure and give your address very plainly. Tell Gen. Dodge that you hope you can come back here some time and finish up.

Yours very truly,
Historian.
