"South Asians have taken over the pop and politics airwave – from actress Mindy Kaling to comedian Hari Kondabalu, all the way to Governor Nikki Haley and Attorney General Kamala Harris. This workshop will examine the intersection of pop culture and political activism, and different methods of engaging a new generation of South Asian American activists. Activists will share their methodology to tell the often marginalized Desi narrative. Together, we will learn to construct transformative projects that change the mainstream framework."
