DESCRIPTION
Immigration case file for Gulam Mohamed (Case File No. 12768/12-4). Mohamed arrived in San Francisco aboard the S.S. Nile on July 1, 1913. On July 2, Mohamed was interrogated by a board including Inspectors W.H. Chadney, F.H. Ainsworth, J.H. Scully, R.E. Peabody, and Interpreter D.S. Dady Burjar. At the conclusion of the inspection, the board voted unanimously that the case be deferred. An additional statement by Ainsworth reads: “The alien appears to be a nervous uneducated average type of Hindu, of medium stature and not over robust appearance.” The file also contains forms regarding another passenger on the S.S. Nile, Tokie Sasa, who was afflicted with hookworm. The file contains a photograph of Gulam Mohamed.
