Immigration File for Naron Singh



DESCRIPTION
Immigration case file for Naron Singh (No. 12815/8-12). Naron Singh arrived on the S.S. Persia on July 29, 1913, arrested on July 30 for “being illegally in the United States,” and ordered deported on October 10. Singh was detained in Angel Island, and interrogated by Inspector R.E. Peabody, with the assistance of an interpreter D.S. Dady Burjar on July 31, 1913. His case was appealed, but eventually Naron Singh and his fellow traveler Mangal Singh were deported on the S.S. Siberia on November 21, 1914. A photograph of Naron Singh is also included.
