Oral History Interview with Lakshmi Gaur



DESCRIPTION
Dr. Lakshmi Gaur was born in Jeypore, Orissa. Her family moved to Hyderabad in the mid- 1960’s and she completed much of her early schooling there. She lived with her father and sister, as well as other relatives, including her beloved grandmother who acted as a mother to her and her sister. After finishing her high school education, Dr. Gaur completed her bachelor’s degree from Amrit Kapadia Navjeevan Women’s College and her master’s degree from Andhra University. She went onto to do her PhD at the prestigious Punjab University in the physical anthropology and human genetics program.
