On March 10, 2018, SAADA hosted the Philadelphia premiere of Hari Kondabolu’s The Problem With Apu documentary, followed by a community discussion about representations of South Asian Americans in popular culture.

Beyond Apu: A Community Conversation was presented by the South Asian American Digital Archive and hosted by the Drexel University Westphal College of Media Arts & Design. Additional support was provided by The Nealis Program in Asian Studies at Saint Joseph’s University, Swarthmore College Asian Studies, and the Women's & Gender Studies Program at Drexel University. “The Problem with Apu” documentary was made available courtesy of truTV, A Time Warner Company.
