"Studio City cause put to music"; "Demolition Stopped on Historic McKinley House"

DESCRIPTION
Two newspaper clippings from the scrapbook of Dr. Amarjit Marwah.

The first, an article from the Los Angeles Daily News by Kathy McDonald entitled "Studio City cause put to music", describes supporters' continuing efforts in the campaign to designate a Studio City carwash as a historic landmark. The Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission was scheduled to vote on the carwash's status soon.

The second, an article from the Los Angeles Times by Kenneth Reich entitled "Demolition Stopped on Historic McKinley House" and dated January 2, 1989, describes the City of Los Angeles' refusal to allow the demolition of McKinley Mansion (a cultural landmark). In the end, with the approval of Dr. Marwah and the other members of the Cultural Heritage Commission, the building would be moved off the property entirely.
