Shaolin Temple USA Group in the 2014 India Day Parade



DESCRIPTION
The contingent representing the Shaolin Temple martial arts school in Fremont in the India Day Parade in Fremont, CA. The Shaolin tradition of martial arts practice was started by an Indian monk who traveled to Henan Province in Central China in the 6th Century. Because of this historic connection, the founders of the school decided to march in the India Day Parade. Moreover, many of their current students, throughout Silicon Valley, are of South Asian descent.
