Oral History Interview with Jagdish Sharma
DESCRIPTION
Dr. Jagdish Sharma had his early education in Jodhpur, India. He earned his medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine) from Jaipur, and MD in Internal Medicine after research in epidemic encephalitis. In 1960, Dr. Sharma started his first job as an Internist-in-Charge in the Medical Ward of Western Railway in Ajmer, India. He moved to U.S. in 1964 for residency in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Neurology. Dr. Sharma worked at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, and in 1975, he started his own practice as a neurologist. He started the Indian Doctors Association, and was the group's president for the first two years. Dr. Sharma is also involved with the Texas Indo-Medical Physicians Society and the American Association of Physicians from India.
