Sahar's Life in Afghanistan

DESCRIPTION
In this slideshow, you will see:
A presentation that Sahar partook in called '16 Days of Activism' where they advocated for gender equality and against gender-based violence in 2020. Sahar says that the popular narrative about Afghan women is that they need saving, however, many Afghan women are fighting for equality in every aspect.

Sahar studying at American University of Afghanistan in 2017. Sahar is a graduate of American University of Afghanistan. Though her parent's didn't have the opportunity for education she was encouraged to pursue it. She talks about having to burn even her notes after the fall of Kabul in fear of the Taliban finding out that they were educated and even worse at American University.

Sahar's office space in 2021 right before the fall of Kabul to the Taliban. Sahar worked at a Western organization in Kabul before the fall of Kabul. She was one of the thousands of women who had to give up everything and evacuate.
