Anahita Sidhwa's Recipes and Recipe Box

DESCRIPTION
In this slideshow, you will see:
The first page of Anahita Sidhwa's carrot achar recipe. The carrot achar was a specialty of Anahita's mother-in-law and she wrote it down as her mother-in-law demonstrated when she visited soon after their wedding as it was her husband's favorite. She makes it regularly and the recipe has been shared with many others. Zoroastrians are quite fond of their food and one of the particular specialities of Parsi cuisine are achars (pickled dishes).

The second page of Anahita's carrot achar recipe.

A chutney fish recipe that is a recent invention of Anahita's, put together from different sources by trail and error. Seafood and chutney are also popular in Parsi cuisine.

Anahita Sidhwa's recipe box (interior) that is well-used and holds the most precious scraps of paper. Food is such an integral part of her and family's lives. They have enjoyed the challenge of doing ghambars for 100+ people to everyday stuff to achars with "heritage recipes" from her mother-in-law to little delicacies she has taught herself.
