Interviews with Supriya Bharadwaj, Alicia Virani, Rayman Mathoda, and Avantika Shahi

DESCRIPTION
These interviews chart the evolution of Satrang and other South Asian queer communities to include their families and queer families with children. According to Supriya, Family Day, established in 2017, marks the moment when Satrang moved away from a focus on individual needs to a focus on the broader community. This fostered an opportunity to include blood families and chosen families in Satrang. Also in the audio recording, Rayman Mathoda and Avantika Shahi speak about queer parenthood and their work in supporting the nascent Desi Rainbow Parents & Allies, which was founded in 2017 in New Jersey to provide resources and support to families with queer family members.
