My dear Gyanee Ji,

I have just seen the recent issue of your paper and thank you for the appeal you have made for donations to help the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of the earthquake in Assam. I do hope your readers will respond to your appeal in a suitable manner.

You are no doubt aware of the commemoration meeting that has been convened for the 2nd October at the Gurdawara in Stockton to celebrate Gandhiji's birthday. I have already accepted the invitation and expect to be there for the day, together with my wife. I am hoping that it will be possible for you also to come on this occasion as I have quite a few things that I should like to discuss with you.

I am seriously thinking of arranging a visit to the Imperial Valley and Fresno some time in November as it may be difficult for me to go there later. Will you very kindly find out from our compatriots in the Imperial Valley when it may be convenient for them to meet me during the month in order that I may arrange my connected visits to Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Fresno accordingly. More when we meet.

With kindest regards,

Yours sincerely,

M.R. Ahuja,
Consul General.
