Where does the "socialism" of the Government of India originate and terminate?
The Government takeover of the wholesale trade of wheat failed miserably. Inflation, hoarding, smuggling, and chronic mal-distribution continued and continues to worsen. Why?
To partially make up for shortfalls, India will have been forced to import in excess of $1,150 million worth of foodgrains from the U.S. alone in 1974-75.
