SATYAJIT RAY'S
KANCHENJUNGHA

Satyajit Ray is one of the most famous directors of India. His hand is as sure as always, and his gift for telling a complex story in simple terms is fortunately matched by his ability to find performers who can meet the demands of his direction. No one in the cast is less than excellent. This film is in color and the location is Darjeeling on the foothills of Himalaya mountain. Ray makes the effective use of his location in the symbolic treatment of the mountain mists, shadows and startling changes of light.
