"Satrang at 25" Launch Event

This video recording is from the online exhibition launch event that took place on June 15, 2023 at 4pm PDT. The online launch included a demonstration of the digital exhibition by the co-curators of the exhibition Aziz Sohail and Alexis Bard Johnson and reflections by scholars, artists, and activists including Kareem Khubchandani, Sheena Malhotra, Debanuj DasGupta, and D'Lo.

The presenters discussed the capacities and limits of queer archive making, diasporic dreaming and solidarity and alliances across borders and oceans. Members of the Satrang and broader community attended, many of them reflecting on what the exhibition meant to them.

Some of these readings and other contributors are being edited into a book emerging out of the exhibition which will be published by Kaya Press and edited by the co-curators. Book details and publication date are forthcoming.
