Oral history interview with Susilamma Joy, conducted by Philadelphia Fellow Sherry Thomas.

Susilamma Joy lives in Holland, Pennsylvania. For decades, she was a nurse at Temple Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She discusses the familiar journey of many Malayali women in the 1970s who immigrated to the United States and pursued a nursing career. She recalls what it was like raising three children with her husband, who was also working. She discusses the highs and lows of building her life, including some regrets, and what she is most proud of.
