Oral History Interview with Hannah Thomas
DESCRIPTION
Oral history interview with Hannah Thomas, conducted by Philadelphia Fellow Alyssa Siji.
Hannah Thomas was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She currently attends Central High School and remains involved in the community while nurturing her hobbies through her leadership roles as captain of the field hockey team, president of the Indian Pakistani Cultural Organization, secretary of her school’s Student Association, and treasurer of a non-profit organization known as Feeding Philly. Growing up, she felt very distant in her South Asian culture due to the expectations those in her community pushed on her. Over time, she has created her own definition of being a Malayli and feels rooted in her culture. Through her role as President of the Indian Pakistani Cultural Organization, she hopes to instill this same understanding in others.
