Oral history interview with Rupa S. Valdez, conducted by Archival Creators Fellow Nureena Faruqi.

Rupa S. Valdez (she/her) is an associate professor at the University of Virginia from a Gujarati background. She is the President and co-founder of Blue Trunk Foundation. Her work focuses on Public Health Sciences as well as Systems and Information Engineering. Her research and teaching focus on the lived experiences of people with chronic health conditions and disabilities. Valdez concentrates on underserved populations and the role of technology. She is heavily involved in disability advocacy and community engagement locally and abroad. She is a wheelchair user with upper extremity limitations, vision related disabilities, allergies, and asthma.
