A Demographic Snapshot of South Asians in the United States
DESCRIPTION
This document provides a national snapshot of the South Asian American community based primarily on Census 2010 and the 2013 American Community Survey. It highlights the growth and distribution of the South Asian population in the United States, as well as its implications for electoral participation, immigration, and hate violence. The document also discusses the challenges of accurately counting various South Asian populations in the Census and encourages community leaders, government entities, policymakers, and the media to use this data to better understand and engage with the South Asian American community.
