Removing Designated Countries from the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS)



DESCRIPTION
The document is a notice from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published in the Federal Register on April 28, 2011. The notice announces that DHS is eliminating redundant programs by removing several countries from, and relieving nonimmigrant nationals or citizens of those countries from compliance with, the special registration procedures under the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS). The countries removed from NSEERS compliance include Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Eritrea, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. DHS has determined that it is no longer necessary to subject nationals from these countries to special registration procedures.
