Dear Madam,

Your letter of October 26 has been forwarded to me here from Muktsar. I left that place in April to take up this new assignment here.

May I say how deeply grieved we were to hear the very sad news of the demise of Dr Bhagwan Singh Gyanee? Doctor Sahib played a noble and heroic role in India’s fight for freedom and his name will live in the history of our country. I pray to Akalpurkh that the noble departed soul may rest in peace. May the example of true patriotism and daring action set by Doctor Sahib continue to inspire the coming generations?

Owing to engagements here, I much regret that it will not be possible for me to come for the meeting on the 4th. Kindly accept my sincerest apologies.

With our best regards,

I remain,

Yours sincerely,
[Signature]
