This is a publication by SAALT that aims to dispel common myths about the impact of the immigration system on South Asians. The document provides stories collected from press articles and through SAALT's Documentation Project that illustrate the challenges and obstacles faced by South Asian workers, women, youth, and families. The publication addresses several myths about immigration policy and its importance for South Asians, the presence of undocumented immigrants from South Asia in the U.S., and the problems encountered by legal immigrants with the current immigration system. The document also provides personal accounts of South Asians affected by the broken immigration system.
