The guest of honor the dinner was Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit; also in attendance was Sirdar J.J. Singh, Pearl Buck, Lin Yutang, Elsa Maxwell, Francis J. McConnell, and William Shirer.

Booklet titled The Story of the Oriental Peoples -- Japan, China, India, written by Florence Natalie Heacock in collaboration with Walker Brown. The booklet was published by the Los Angeles City School District Division of Psychology and Educational Research in 1929.
