Oral history interview with Mohammad Idris on July 15th, 2022, conducted by Subat Matin. Born in Sandwip, Bangladesh, Idris came to the U.S. on a Business Visa in 1985. Once the U.S. government gave him amnesty to become a legal resident in the country, he saved money and brought his family to the U.S. He was finally able to help his relatives and provide his children an education.

He first came to Ohio to further his education at Ohio University of Athens and had a dream of getting a college degree in America. Taslim soon had to leave Ohio because finding job there was difficult.

Rehana Alam was born in Sylhet, Bangladesh, although she is originally from Sandwip growing up her family moved around a lot. Rehana immigrated to the United States in 1991 with her two sons while her husband had been working in America to provide for the family.
