Tenzing Tsering Oral History Interview

DESCRIPTION
Tenzing Tsering is renowned Tibetan chef who moved from India to New York in 2010 (?) and started his own restaurant. They hit a little success in the beginning with New York Times highlighting their early days and local papers following suit. However, since then his business faced quite a few struggles, from needing to relocate to struggling to draw in customers. The biggest hit came with the pandemic though, when Punda’s business declined by 70% and Tenzing had to cut their entire staff because he was unable to pay them, leaving just him and his son to run the business, and they are still trying to get back on their feet now.

Still, Tenzing remains driven by his passion for food and cooking, having trained in Ayurveda, he tried to include his learnings in his recipes and takes on Himalayan food.
