Godha Ram Channon Reception Invitation
Invitation for a reception held in 1952 in honor of Godha Ram Channon, intended to see him off on his first trip to India for nearly 40 years. The reception was held at 1830 Sutter Street in San Francisco (the site of the Japanese YWCA) and organized by Rama Murphy, along with a committee that included K.L. Dixit and Mrs. Ram Chandra.

A letter dated October 10, 1951, from Godha Ram Channon to Dr. Lanka Sundaram, Editor of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi, India. Channon wishes Sundaram luck with the coming election to Indian parliament. He also mentions that he is looking forward to meeting with Sundaram when visiting India in the near future.

A program announcing memorial services for Kala Bagai Chandra, set for October 11, 1983. The document eulogizes her as one of the first Indian women to enter the United States (in 1915), and lists off many of her relatives. Per the program, the service was followed by a dinner in her honor, held at the headquarters of the Greater Los Angeles Press Club.

A letter dated July 22, 1946 from Mrs. Husain Nasri, Chairwoman of American Wives of India, to Godha Ram Channon, Chairman of India Famine Relief Committee. The letter was in regards to both organizations soliciting funds and holding benefits for India famine relief. Nasri apologizes for soliciting funds from the San Francisco area, where Channon’s organization was fundraising.
