Introducing SAADA's First Days Project

JUNE 17, 2013
A first day is so much more than just one day. The first day in a new country can be full of excitement, nervousness, loss, humor, sadness, anticipation, confusion, and a mixture of many other emotions. One day can encapsulate both what has come before and what will come after.

Today we are very excited to launch SAADA's First Days Project, an effort to document and share stories from South Asian Americans about their first day in the United States. Stories can be submitted as video or audio (up to 3 minutes) or text (maximum 300 words). You can submit your own story or interview a family member or friend about their first day. Submissions will be accepted until July 31, 2013!

SAADA's got a new look!

MAY 4, 2013
With help from Brian Cook, our Visual Design and Digital Strategy Manager, we are excited to reveal our new logo and completely updated website! These changes are not just cosmetic. We are working to ensure that the archive is more accessible, easier to navigate and more user-friendly. In the last year, nearly 30% of the traffic to the SAADA website came from mobile devices. Our updated website uses responsive web design to make it easier to use on a computer, tablet or phone. We are also excited to reveal a number of new features, including more ways to browse the archive and an online magazine. All that and much more coming soon!
